The Denver School of Science and Technology (DSST) seeks experienced, highly effective teachers and administrators to join an outstanding faculty team for the 2008-09 school year. In the first three years, DSST has been recognized locally, state-wide, and nationally as a new model for high performing urban high schools. Hundreds of educators from all over the country have visited DSST to learn more about its successful model. DSST was featured in Newsweek’s “Great American High Schools” issue and the The Rocky Mountain News called DSST “An Example for Other Schools.” DSST has been rated “Excellent” (In the top 8% of performance in Colorado) for the last two years. Using a wireless student laptop program and an integrated performance-based curriculum, DSST is helping redefine the successful American high school. Located in a new state-of-the-art facility featured in the American Architectural Foundation’s “Great Schools by Design” series, DSST provides teachers with the support, resources and a highly accountable school culture to be truly extraordinary. DSST recently received approval to open a middle school (grades 6-8). A founding middle school team will be hired to open this school in June 2008. DSST seeks candidates with strong character, a passion for excellence, a relentless commitment to student achievement, willingness to take risks, a desire to be model learners in the school, and the capacity to work very hard to support exceptional student achievement.
